Where are we?

There are no roads to the Fimmvörðuháls hut. There is public transport which you may have to book online early; to Skógar in the south or to Básar in the north.

The main season for hiking Fimmvörðuháls is from early June until the end of August. Off-season there may be winter conditions on the trail, at which time it is only for highly experienced hikers.
